Manchester United are looking to book their place in the Europa League final four. It’s time for our predicted Man United XI vs Copenhagen.
Yes, we’ll be playing in the Champions League next season. But it makes sense to go all-out to try and win the Europa League while we’re in it, huh?
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prioritised a top-four finish over winning the FA Cup, but this time, there’s no excuse as the Europa League is the only competition we’re in. I’d like to see him go as strong as possible and get his first major trophy under his belt.
With the games being over one leg, there’s little room for error. But, United can go toe-to-toe with anyone in this competition, provided they play their best team.
Thankfully, that’s exactly what I think he’ll do against Copenhagen later tonight, so let’s get right into it…
Check out the predicted Man United XI vs Copenhagen in full:
David de Gea will start in goal. He was aboard the plane with the rest of the lads yesterday, and although it’s unfair on Sergio Romero, we have to play our best team.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka gets the start at right-back, while Brandon Williams’ breakthrough season continues with the nod in a European quarter-final over on the left. Captain Harry Maguire will continue to proudly wear the arm-band alongside Victor Lindelof.
Nemanja Matic will sit at the base of our midfield, with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes tasked with creating chances and carving the openings from slightly higher up the pitch.
Anthony Martial is in the form of his life. Expect him to give that Copenhagen back four a tough test for 90 minutes. When you factor in Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford, too, we should have more than enough fire-power to get the job done.
As per usual, they’ll be plenty of quality on the bench if they’re needed. However, I’d like to think that if we play at our best, we’ll be celebrating our semi-final place in a little over 14 hours’ time.
