Predicted Man United XI vs Newcastle United (Premier League, 2019)

Manchester United take on Newcastle United this weekend, in a game in which the Red Devils simply have to win heading into the international break.

We’re already sitting in mid-table, and dropping points against a struggling Magpies side would be a hugely negative end to an awful spell of games. Though right now, I don’t hold much hope for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, particularly as he hasn’t won on the road since that famous night in Paris back in March.

Anyway, ahead of the clash, the Baby Faced Assassin has some real injury issues on his hands; which hasn’t made picking the predicted starting XI easy. At all…

David de Gea starts in between the sticks, with somewhat of a make-shift back four in front of him.

Ashley Young plays at right-back in Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s absence, while Axel Tuanzebe gets the nod on the left due to Luke Shaw’s ongoing injury. Victor Lindelof starts at centre-back alongside Harry Maguire.

Scott McTominay has been the only bright spark of late so the Scot deserves to continue. Andreas Pereira, for whatever reason, continues to be selected so expect the same again here. Juan Mata plays just ahead of the pair in the #10 slot.

Marcus Rashofrd hasn’t been anywhere near good enough recently but he’ll continue to start as the main striker due to Anthony Martial remaining sidelined. Mason Greenwood will finally get the nod in a Premier League game due to Jesse Lingard’s hamstring problem, while Daniel James completes the team.
