Predicted Man United XI vs Sheffield United (Premier League home, 2020)

Manchester United Football Club drew with Tottenham Hotspur upon their return following lockdown, but tonight against Sheffield United, three points is an absolute must.

The Red Devils now sit five adrift of the Premier League’s top-four and the wins must start flowing if United want to have any chance at closing the gap. It all starts now.

Fortunately, Dean Henderson won’t be able to play in this one due to the loan agreement, while John Egan is suspended for The Blades. From a United standpoint, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones are the only absentees.

With that in mind, let’s get right into the predicted Man United XI vs Sheffield United:

David de Gea will keep his place in between the sticks despite a glaring error on Friday evening.

Luke Shaw starts on the left, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka playing over on the right. A case can be made for Brandon Williams to start, while Eric Bailly could replace Victor Lindelof. For now, though, I’ve gone for the Ice Man ahead of the Ivorian. Harry Maguire keeps the captain’s armband.

Scott McTominay will sit at the midfield’s base, fresh after signing new terms at Old Trafford. Then, this will be our first glimpse of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes starting a game together.

Anthony Martial will probably keep his place ahead of Odion Ighalo (just), though Mason Greenwood should replace Daniel James over on the right. Marcus Rashford will start off the left-hand side.
