Predicted Man United XI vs Wolves (FA Cup away, 2020)

Manchester United Football Club are looking to bounce back after a poor 2-0 defeat away to Arsenal. The games aren’t getting any easier for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, though, with the Red Devils heading to the Midlands to take on a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who can beat anyone on their day.

Serious credit has to go to Nuno Espirito Santo and his players. They’ve given us some real trouble since they earned Premier League promotion so we should expect no different here.

An FA Cup run would work wonders for confidence in that Old Trafford dressing room and perhaps this competition is United’s best chance at winning silverware. With that in mind, let’s delve right into the Reds’ predicted starting line-up for this one…

Predicted Man United XI vs Wolves:

We should always expect changes in cup competition, the first of which comes in between the sticks with Sergio Romero coming into the team in place of David de Gea.

Next up is another change, albeit wholly more popular. Yes, Brandon Williams should come back into the XI, opposite Aaron Wan-Bissaka who starts in the right-back slot. Harry Maguire will play, but alongside Phil Jones, giving Victor Lindelof some rest.

United’s midfield options are few and far between so there’s no surprise to see Nemanja Matic and Fred both starting. Juan Mata will come into the team, though he’ll play in the #10 slot.

Anthony Martial will lead the line, with Marcus Rashford on his left and Mason Greenwood making up the team. This front three will score goals against anyone, though you get the feeling we’ll need to bag at least two or three to secure victory here…
