Our Red Devils find themselves 6-2 up heading into the second leg. Ahead of that tie, it’s time for our predicted Man Utd XI vs AS Roma.
At the fifth attempt in a semi-final, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to have one foot in the door. Tomorrow night, it’s about pushing home that advantage and booking our place in a first final under the Baby Faced Assassin.
Credit where it’s due, United were simply sensational in that second half. The Reds go into this one feeling super-fresh after their game against Liverpool was postponed at the weekend.
That should tell us there are no new injury concerns for Solskjaer to worry about, leaving the squad in pretty good shape for this one, outside of Anthony Martial and Phil Jones.
Anything other than full strength here is a mistake. I get it, we’re 4-0 up, but one bad mistake here or a poor performance there and any top side, which AS Roma are, could get right back into this tie. Let’s get right into the all-important team news.
Check out the predicted Man Utd XI vs AS Roma in full here:
David de Gea is now the customary cup goalkeeper so he’ll come back into the side here. What better way to go out than in a big European final? Assuming this is to be his last season here…
Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back, during a season in which he has very little in the way of competition. Luke Shaw gets the nod in the left-back slot, though I bet Alex Telles is pushing him hard. Harry Maguire starts and captains the side, with Victor Lindelof making up the back four.
I’ve gone for Scott McTominay over Fred for his defensive qualities. AS Roma will be on the attack here, so we need that solid foundation in midfield. Paul Pogba will be included from the off, with Bruno Fernandes completing the midfield.
Edinson Cavani will lead the attack after a phenomenal performance in the first leg. Marcus Rashford will be feeling good after a full seven days off, with Mason Greenwood coming into the side on the right-wing.
