After a short break in-between seasons, the 2020/21 term is already upon us! Ahead of our Premier League opener at Old Trafford, it’s now time for our predicted Man Utd XI vs Crystal Palace!

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, like the fans, will be disappointed to only see one new signing through the door. The good news is that there’s still time to get a few more players in…

Roy Hodgson’s men will certainly put up a fight. No doubt they’re feeling pretty confident after their opening day victory, too. Make no mistake about it, this won’t be an easy game while Wilfried Zaha still has a point to prove.

Anyway, this United side is much-improved and if they can carry their end-of-season form into the new term, we’ve every chance at getting off to a good start here.

With practically a fully-fit squad to choose from, minus Axel Tuanzebe who is a few weeks away, let’s delve right into our likely line-up.

David de Gea will keep his place in goal for now. He has the manager’s trust, while Dean Henderson is still a relative unknown. I’m not sure for how much longer the Spaniard will keep him out for, mind…

Luke Shaw will start at left-back after recovering from injury himself. We’re going to need a big season from him. Over on the opposite flank, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will no doubt have his hands full with the aforementioned Zaha. Harry Maguire captain’s the side with Victor Lindelof starting alongside him.

Nemanja Matic brings stability, experience and calmness to the midfield base. Bruno Fernandes was always going to play, though I’ve gone for new signing Donny van de Beek ahead of Paul Pogba. The latter is a week or two behind his teammates due to him previously suffering from COVID-19.

Our front three was absolutely dynamite last term and we’re hoping they all kick it up a notch again this time around. Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford all start.

In terms of fire-power on the bench, you’ll have Pogba, Juan Mata, Daniel James, Fred, Eric Bailly, Brandon Williams and more. We should have more than enough to get the job done here. Hopefully, on Saturday night, we’re celebrating an opening day three points.
