The Red Devils simply need to get back to winning ways in the Champions League to maintain control of their group. Revenge will also be on their minds. It’s time for our predicted Man Utd XI vs Istanbul Basaksehir.

Manchester United have offered up a real mixed bag of results this term, though the 2-1 loss to Istanbul Basaksehir was easily the most disappointing display of the lot.

It’s a game the Red Devils should have won – and easily, too. However, a poor all-round performance cost us dearly. We should already be well in control of the group but instead, we’ve offered the chasing pack a chance at usurping us.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men simply have to put that right at Old Trafford tomorrow night. Whatever team is put out there, we should have more than enough quality to get the job done here. That said, the worst thing we can do is underestimate our opponent (again).

Some players need rest, others need games. I’d expect the Baby Faced Assassin to make some changes, giving those players who have been nursing injuries some time off. Anyway, let’s get right into it…

Dean Henderson simply deserves another opportunity to play here. Although he’ll likely have a quiet evening, it’s nice for him to get some minutes under his belt.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will play a right-back, in a game that should allow him to practice on the attacking aspect of his game. Alex Telles will play at the left-back slot as he looks to build up his match fitness. Harry Maguire will play and captain the side, alongside Axel Tuanzebe.

Scott McTominay was rested last time out so he’ll likely be amongst the first names on the team-sheet here. Bruno Fernandes will play, as will Donny van de Beek. I’m intrigued to see how these guys get on together.

Edinson Cavani deserves to make his first start after an excellent cameo against West Brom. Anthony Martial needs the minutes to build up his confidence while this feels like a good chance to play Daniel James.

There is plenty of quality on the bench should the boss need it. I’m hopeful, though, that the starting line-up is more than capable of getting the job done.
