Our predicted Man Utd XI for the huge Carabao Cup game vs Man City is now in, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making changes for this one.
Manchester United’s big opportunity is here. The chance to make a first cup final under the baby Faced Assassin is now presenting itself. Standing in our way, though, none other than our noisy neighbours.
Make no mistake about it, Pep Guardiola’s side won’t be pushovers for this one. It’s up to the Red Devils to come out of the blocks quick, play hard and compete for 90 minutes.
I still reckon a few changes will be made to the side here, purely because Solskjaer has a job to not only win football matches, but keep his key players fresh. With that in mind, let’s get right into it…
Predicted Man Utd XI vs Man City (Carabao Cup semi-final):
Dean Henderson comes into the team for this one. He deserves an opportunity to start in a big game, so why not go the whole hog and make it a Manchester derby?
Alex Telles comes back into the team in the left-back slot, giving Luke Shaw a well-earned rest. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still the only viable option for this game in the right-back position. Harry Maguire starts whenever he’s fit, so why should that change here? He’ll partner Axel Tuanzebe.
Fred will play at the midfield’s base. His energy and work ethic is going to be key here. Donny van de Beek makes his first start in what feels like ages, with Paul Pogba making up the midfield three.
Mason Greenwood comes into the side on the right flank, with Marcus Rashford starting on the left. Anthony Martial gets the nod up top.
The likes of Bruno Fernandes, Juan Mata and Luke Shaw can be called upon off the substitutes bench if needed.
