Our predicted Man Utd XI for a somewhat meaningless derby vs Man City is now in…
Manchester United Football Club’s title race is run. Sadly, it looks like another season of fighting for a place in the top four, though right now, we’re in control of that destiny.
A game against Manchester City is always going to be hotly-contested. This fixture will be no different as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to continue his pretty decent record against Pep Guardiola.
A win here would send out a strong message to our top four rivals and with some tricky games coming up, I’d love to see a commanding performance at the very least. After a few poor results, confidence is low at the moment. What a perfect time to put that right.
Anyway, let’s get right into the all-important team news, with only a few absentees confirmed for this one; Juan Mata, David de Gea and Phil Jones.
Check out our confirmed Man Utd XI vs Man City in full here:
Dean Henderson keeps his place in the starting line-up here, with the Englishman set for his first taste of Manchester derby action.
Luke Shaw is in the form of his life at the moment, he’ll be one of the first names on the team-sheet here. Aaron Wan-Bissaka continues to play at right-back as he looks to keep Raheem Sterling quiet again. Harry Maguire captains this XI, with Eric Bailly named as his partner.
Scott McTominay was rested in midweek in order to get the start here. We’re going to need a massive performance from him here. Bruno Fernandes has been struggling recently but he always starts when fit, with Fred making up the midfield three.
I’ve gone for Edinson Cavani as the main striker in this one. Marcus Rashford will play off the left-hand side, with Daniel James re-called for is pace, particularly on the counter-attack.
Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba will probably be fit enough to take their places on the bench, alongside Mason Greenwood and Donny van de Beek.
