The league title may be all-but gone for the Red Devils, but let’s get right into our predicted Man Utd XI for a crunch match vs Newcastle.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are improving, make no mistake about that. For what it’s worth, before this season started we all thought it was twelve months too soon before we’d make a realistic title challenge.
Right now, sitting in second place is probably as good as we could’ve hoped for. Now, it’s about continuing to pick up points, cementing our place in the top four and being ready for any catastrophic collapse from our noisy neighbours.
This weekend brings a huge game against Newcastle United. These matches are always fun and I’d expect this one to be no different. Getting three points here won’t be easy, particularly with the mini injury crisis the gaffer is dealing with. Anway, let’s get right into the all-important team news.
Predicted Man Utd XI vs Newcastle in full here:

Dean Henderson starts in between the sticks, with Solskjaer now realising that he must make a change in that area of the field.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka gets the nod at right-back as per usual. Over on the left, Luke Shaw comes back into the team. Harry Maguire always starts when fit, but he’ll have a different partner from our last league game. Eric Bailly will play.
Solskjaer didn’t seem convinced about Scott McTominay’s availability for this one, hence why we reckon Nemanja Matic will start. Bruno Fernandes plays, obviously. Fred completes the midfield three.
Anthony Martial will lead the line here with Edinson Cavani’s availability unclear. Mason Greenwood starts off the right-wing, with Marcus Rashford completing the XI.
Who knows who’ll be on the bench for this one with so many injury doubts? One thing is for certain, though, whatever team United put out should have more than enough quality to get the job done.
