The time is now. Our Red Devils simply have to avoid defeat in this one, to ensure they’re playing in the Champions League going into the new year. Ahead of the game, it’s time for our predicted Man Utd XI vs RB Leipzig.
Our Bundesliga opponents will undoubtedly be plotting revenge. After all, they were walloped 5-0 at Old Trafford a couple of months ago. Dayot Upamecano and company will be looking to put that right.
It’s up to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to get his tactics spot on here. In too many games this season, we’ve started far too sluggishly and this is the ideal time to put that right. With that said, this RB Leipzig team is an excellent one and they will not simply roll over here.
Picking the team for this one isn’t easy, particularly with several niggling injuries wreaking havoc through the squad at the moment. Fred is also suspended. I definitely don’t envy the manager’s job here, particularly with so much on the line. Anyway, let’s get right into the team…
Predicted Man Utd XI vs RB Leipzig in full:

EDIT: Yes, we forget Fred was suspended… Changes have been made.
David de Gea did miss the West Ham game this weekend, though you’d like to think that was more precautionary than a real serious issue. He’ll make his return here.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will play at right-back as per usual, with the Englishman in brilliant form. Alex Telles is included in the team, despite a pretty shaky defensive display on Saturday. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof will continue as the now-customary centre-half pairing.
Scott McTominay will play at the heart of the midfield, with his mobility the key factor in regards to his selection. Donny van de Beek only played a half against West Ham so he’ll get another start. Bruno Fernandes makes up the midfield three.
Edinson Cavani was nursing an injury this weekend but I believe he’ll be ready and raring to go here. He’ll look to his left and see Marcus Rashford, with Mason Greenwood starting over on the right-wing.
There’s ample quality on the bench should the gaffer need it, with Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek the standout names. I don’t think Anthony Martial will be fit enough for this one.
