Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is absolutely desperate for a victory here. It’s time for our predicted Man Utd XI vs Southampton.
Suddenly, the Red Devils find themselves six points off the pace, assuming Manchester City will win their game in hand… It has been a bad week for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, though this Tuesday is another massive opportunity for his side to prove they’re in this title race.
Southampton games are never easy. Ralph Hassenhuttl is a brilliant manager. United will have to be on their A-game from minute one if they’re to win this fixture, make no mistake about that.
The good news for the Reds is that the squad is looking in pretty good shape. The bad news for Ole? Rotation goes out the window here, purely due to the fact that United simply have to get all three points in this one. Anyway, let’s get right into the all-important team news…
Predicted Man Utd XI vs Southampton in full:
In goal, David de Gea will keep his place on what is an evening on which he can make no mistakes – no matter how small.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will start in the right-back position, with Luke Shaw set to start as the left-back. Harry Maguire gets the nod as per usual, with Eric Bailly coming back into the starting XI here.
I’ve gone for Fred sitting at the midfield’s base as we’re unsure of Scott McTominay’s availability. Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes both start. Obviously.
Edinson Cavani wasn’t great last time out, though his movement and class is always on full display. He’ll be involved from the off. Marcus Rashford will start, as will Mason Greenwood.
What’s positive for United is that they’ll be plenty of game-changers on the bench should Ole need them.
