In a game where wholesale changes are expected to be made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it’s time for our predicted Man Utd XI vs Watford.
Four semi-finals. Four losses. Manchester United have a chance to get back on the right track in another domestic cup this weekend, against Championship side Watford.
Make no mistake about it, this one will not be easy. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to ensure his side are mentally and physically ready for a fight here. Avoiding the ‘Cupset’ is an absolute must, though, as those doubts about the Baby Faced Assassin will start to creep in once again.
Changes will be made. That’s natural, as the boss has a responsibility to not only win games but also keep his senior players fit. Don’t forget, United head to Anfield in just over a week for what is probably their biggest Premier League fixture in well over a half-decade.
For now, it’s about beating the opponent that’s in front of you. So let’s turn attention to the starting line-up United will go with against The Hornets tomorrow evening…
Check out the predicted Man Utd XI vs Watford in full here:

Dean Henderson will make back-to-back starts in between the sticks tomorrow, having also played in Wednesday’s Manchester derby loss.
Eric Bailly was rested in midweek, though I see no reason why he shouldn’t come straight back into the team here. Victor Lindelof will partner the Ivorian at the heart of the Red Devils’ defence. Brandon Williams comes in at right-back for a rare start, with Alex Telles completing the back four.
Nemanja Matic will be included here and after much deliberating, I reckon we’ll see Bruno Fernandes rested. Donny van de Beek (hurrah!) and Paul Pogba will both start in the engine room.
Mason Greenwood needs a goal to boost his confidence so he should lead the line here. I’ve gone for Juan Mata to start off the right-hand side with Jesse Lingard playing over on the left.
Daniel James, Odion Ighalo and the likes of Anthony Martial will be on the bench if needed. I’d love to see Marcus Rashford and the aforementioned Fernandes completely given the weekend off here.
