Our Red Devils take on Aston Villa for the second time in five days this weekend. Our predicted MUFC XI is now in.
Manchester United managed to just about get the job done against Aston Villa at home on Monday night – ensuring their place in the FA Cup fourth round.
This weekend, those two sides meet again but in a different competition and at a different venue. The Red Devils head to the Midlands to meet with Steven Gerrard in the Premier League.
Make no mistake about it, this game will be even tougher than the Monday night encounter. We’ll have to improve our performance from that game – and pretty significantly, too.
We should welcome back at least one or two key faces following injury, which will undoubtedly help our cause. Anyway, let’s get right into the all-important team news…
Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Aston Villa in full here:

David de Gea will take up his place in between the sticks as per usual here. That spot is pretty much his to lose now, while Dean Henderson is becoming to get a little unsettled.
Diogo Dalot should start at right-back after some impressive performances, though he could be an injury doubt. Luke Shaw is infinitely more effective than Alex Telles in the left-back slot. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Victor Lindelof looked steady alongside Raphael Varane in our last match. It only feels fair if that same combination plays again here.
Scott McTominay and Fred continue to play inconsistent football. But right now, they’re the best we have. When they’re on top form they can go toe-to-toe with anyone. Let’s hope they’re feeling good on Saturday night.
Bruno Fernandes has started to play a little better of late. We’re going to need him at his brilliant best in this one, while Jadon Sancho should overcome a muscle issue to be fit enough to play here.
Edinson Cavani is our talisman and the heartbeat of this team. He and Cristiano Ronaldo will pose problems for any defence.
