Our predicted MUFC XI for the Premier League home game vs Aston Villa is now in…
After drawing on Thursday night, Manchester United could do with a victory this weekend, if only to settle down the supporters’ nerves after throwing two points away.
Aston Villa at home is a tough test. To their credit, they’re playing some lovely football right now. Emerging victorious in this one will not be easy.
Keeping Ollie Watkins quiet is just the start of the task, with the whole Villa team playing well under Unai Emery. With that in mind, United will have to be at their best, while Erik ten Hag must manage the game well.
United’s squad is thin on the ground in some areas and well-stocked in others. My worry going into this one is defence. If the back line can stand firm, I give us a really good chance at winning. Obviously, that’s easier said than done.
Anyway, let’s get right into the all-important predicted line-up.
Check out our predicted MUFC XI in full here:
David de Gea starts in between the sticks, with the Spaniard likely expecting a busy afternoon. We’re going to need him at his best.
The back four continues to look unorthodox. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been good at right-back, while Diogo Dalot continues to do a super job out of position on the left. Luke Shaw is another thriving in a new role. We’re loving everything he’s offering right now. Victor Lindelof makes up the defence.
Casemiro was pretty poor in midweek by his high standards. he looked tired but United have no option other than keep giving him the starts. Christian Eriksen will continue in midfield, as will Bruno Fernandes.
Anthony Martial’s minutes continue to be managed, but he’ll be ready to give us at least an hour from the off. To his right and left respectively is Antony and Marcus Rashford.
