Predicted MUFC XI vs Chelsea (Premier League away, 2021/22)

Our Red Devil’s take on The Blues this weekend, with our predicted MUFC XI vs Chelsea now in.

Well, this is looking like Michael Carrick’s second and final game in charge of Manchester United – but it’s a big one.

Our 20-time Premier League champions head to Stamford Bridge to take on the in-form side, Chelsea. This’ll be a real tough test for Carrick and his coaching staff, there’s no doubt about that.

No doubt Ralf Rangnick will be a keen onlooker for this one as he looks to try and gauge which players will thrive in his high-pressing system.

There are a few players who’ll be looking to make a positive impression, while others could be fearing for their regular spot in the side due to the fact that their styles may clash. More on that next week.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get right into the all-important team news…

Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Chelsea in full here:

I’m firmly expecting David de Gea to be in for a busy afternoon here. Chelsea are probably playing the best football in the league right now, while our defence has been struggling.

Alex Telles will likely keep his place in the side with Luke Shaw still absent with an injury. Over on the right-hand side, Aaron Wan-Bissaka gets the nod. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof make up the back four.

I’ve gone for Fred in that holding midfield role. He simply has to win his one-on-one battle with Jorginho if we’re to stand any chance at a result here. Donny van de Beek deserves to play again as he looks to keep momentum going, with Bruno Fernandes starting also.

Cristiano Ronaldo is made for these big games so he’ll play in this one. To his right, Jadon Sancho will feature after he scored his first United goal in midweek. Marcus Rashford makes up the XI.
