Our predicted MUFC XI vs Leeds United for the first pre-season game of 2023/24 is now in.
Just like that, Manchester United are back in action. The FA Cup final honestly doesn’t feel like it was that long ago, with Erik ten Hag leaving Wembley disappointed on that occasion.
However, in football, there’s always a chance at redemption. That’s the beauty of our sport. The gaffer will continue to mould this United squad into one that fits his style of play, as he looks to return this side back to the summit of English football.
Tomorrow, that development and progression continues as pre-season kicks off. The Old Trafford side take on Leeds United over in Norway, with a chance to see some youngsters in action, while there may also be an opportunity to see a new signing…
Anyway, with that in mind, let’s get right into our predicted line-up. These are always far tougher to work out in pre-season, particularly when it’s the first match, but let’s give it a go and see what we can come up with…
Check out the predicted MUFC XI vs Leeds United (pre-season 2023/24) in full here:

So technically, Tom Heaton is the club number one right now. It looks as though Dean Henderson will be sold, so the gaffer will go with the former here.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka enjoyed a good end to the Premier League campaign and I’d fully expect to see the Englishman given plenty of minutes over the summer. Luke Shaw will play on the left-hand side of defence. Lisandro Martinez is back from injury. He’ll be back with his mate, Raphael Varane.
Mason Mount will come in for a pre-season debut, alongside Scott McTominay. The duo have played against each other many a time, though they’re now teammates. Bruno Fernandes will start, presumably wearing the captain’s armband.
Anthony Martial is seriously running out of time to prove his worth. A good tour may well change Ten Hag’s thinking. He’ll have youth either side of him. Alejandro Garnacho will play on the left, with Amad on the right. We’re all keen to see how the Ivorian will get on.
