Well, here we are once again, it feels like we’ve never been away! Our predicted MUFC XI for our season opener vs Leeds United is now in.
With both the European Championships and Copa America keeping us busy over the summer, the wait for football has been a short one this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United will look to go one better this term, as they gear up for what they hope will be a serious title challenge.
In terms of openers, it could’ve started a whole lot easier than Leeds United at Old Trafford. No doubt Marcelo Bielsa’s men will ask some serious questions of our Red Devils come Saturday luncthime.
As per usual, we’re bringing our predicted line-ups back to the site again this year, with this one feeling somewhat straightforward due to various injuries and team news selections.
The likes of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane will be made to wait for their United debuts, while both Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford remain unavailable due to fitness issues.
Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Leeds United in full here:
I’ve gone for David de Gea in between the sticks. We haven’t seen Dean Henderson in pre-season as he’s been suffering with COVID-19, so he’ll have to build up his fitness behind the scenes first.
The United back four here is definitely a familiar one. From right to left, we have Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw all starting. These guys have enjoyed excellent summers, particularly the last three, while Wan-Bissaka had some much-needed rest.
Scott McTominay will be the man entrusted with protecting the back four here, while Bruno Fernandes always starts when fit. I’ve gone for Donny van de Beek as his midfield partner for this one.
Don’t worry, Paul Pogba fans, he’ll play! The Frenchman will begin the season on the left-hand side of the attack due to a shortage of quality options in the final third here. Anthony Martial will begin as the main striker, with Mason Greenwood getting the nod on the right-wing.
COME ON YOU REDS!
