Manchester United’s most important game of the season is already upon us. Erik ten Hag’s men welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford, in a huge fixture for both sides.
Weirdly, win here and the Red Devils leapfrog their North West rivals. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side has actually shown a bit of life in their opening two fixtures. United have been the exact opposite.
No doubt the fingers will be pointed at the Glazer family, while they’ll be an odd atmosphere about the place on Monday. Fans want to get behind these players, while also making it clear they’re not happy with the current owners.

Sadly, the club have no other option but to persist with David de Gea. The Spaniard has been pretty sub-par so far, though he’s still by far and away the best option.
Bringing in Aaron Wan-Bissaka is 100% a change I would make. I know he’s not really favoured by Ten Hag, though the Englishman has shown a willingness to fight for his place. Surely he can’t do any worse than Diogo Dalot? Over on the left, Tyrell Malacia absolutely has to be given the nod. I would go with Raphael Varane alongside Harry Maguire here.
Christian Eriksen was very ordinary against Brentford, though I still take him over Scott McTominay. I’d also imagine Fred will keep his place in the team due to the lack of other options. Bruno Fernandes is another who absolutely has to improve here.
I’d go with Anthony Martial all day long. Benching Cristiano Ronaldo is a huge call, though I believe it absolutely has to be done. Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford play off the flanks.
