Our predicted MUFC XI for our first game over two weeks is now in. Our Red Devils take on Newcastle United away from home.
Well, it has been a fair while without Manchester United in action, hasn’t it?
To be honest, I’ve been really missing our Red Devils, particularly as I want to see how we’re developing under the watchful eye of Ralf Rangnick.
Although it must have been tough to train at times due to the squad suffering with Covid-19, the fortnight to work on their formation and setup may well help us in the long run.
No doubt our German manager has sussed out a few things during the time off, too. So it’ll be interesting to see if the gaffer decides to switch it up in terms of team selection.
The good news is that the likes of Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani are available for selection again following injury. These two are going to be vital for our chances over the course of the season.

David de Gea will obviously continue in between the sticks. He’s been back to his absolute best this term – and it has been great to see.
Diogo Dalot is looking like the biggest benefactor of the Rangnick hire right now, while Alex Telles has also shone under the 63-year-old thus far. I’ve gone for a somewhat controversial back two. Raphael Varane comes into the mix in place of Harry Maguire. Victor Lindelof keeps his place.
Scott McTominay and Fred feel like the ideal defensive pairing for this Rangnick side. So there’s no reason to break that up here.
Bruno Fernandes will start when fit, despite putting in some sub-par performances of late. I’ve gone for Jadon Sancho to play in that attacking midfield role, too, though it’s a close call between the Englishman and Donny van de Beek.
Cristiano Ronaldo obviously starts when fit. The Portuguese star will lead the line alongside Mason Greenwood, who is chomping at the bit to get back into the starting line-up.
