Predicted MUFC XI vs Norwich City (Premier League home, 2021/22)

Our predicted MUFC XI for the home fixture vs Norwich City is now in…

Manchester United Football Club are all-but-done for the 2021/22 season. The Red Devils will not win a trophy. Nor will they finish inside the top four.

Ralf Rangnick will move upstairs this summer, making way for Erik ten Hag to take the hotseat. Before then, though, there are still several games to be played. At this point, it should be about finding out which players are worth keeping around for next season.

Norwich City visits Old Trafford on Saturday, with United desperate to get a positive result. With that in mind, I’m expecting Rangnick to go as full strength as possible in search of three points.

You’d like to think whatever side United put out, this should be a pretty comfortable afternoon. However, Dean Smith’s side will be coming here to upset the applecart. They’ve still got plenty to play for and motivation-wise, they’re in a better place than us.

Anyway, let’s get right into the all-important team news…

Check out our predicted MUFC XI in full here:

David de Gea will obviously start in between the sticks, with the Spaniard looking to continue his decent form this season. I do wonder whether he’s a right fit for the Ten Hag system going forward, though.

The defence pretty much picks itself at this point. Alex Telles will continue to play in place of the injured Luke Shaw, while Diogo Dalot has usurped Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the right-back position. Victor Lindelof plays in place of the injured Raphael Varane, with Harry Maguire making up the defence.

Fred will sit at the midfield’s base, with United having no need to play with two holding players here. This should give Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba free roam in the final third.

Cristiano Ronaldo was blooded up leaving the field last weekend and he’ll be looking to right those wrongs here. To his right, Marcus Rashford is in attendance, with Jadon Sancho playing off the left.
