Our predicted MUFC XI for the Carabao Cup semi-final away game vs Nottingham Forest is now in…
Manchester United’s winning run was ended by Arsenal at the weekend, with The Gunners winning it late. Alas, the progress being made by Erik ten Hag is there for all to see. We have to be pleased at this point in the campaign.
Winning a trophy and finishing inside the top four was always going to be the aim. We’re doing well on both fronts. The Carabao Cup semi-finals start this midweek, with an away game against Nottingham Forest in the offing on Wednesday.
Win here and take a lead back to Old Trafford and you’re looking decently-placed for a spot in the final, though our opponents must not be underestimated. They too, are desperate for a place in the Wembley showpiece.
With that in mind, I expect to see a little bit of rotation but not an awful lot given what is at stake. Anyway, let’s get right into it.
Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Nottingham Forest here:

David de Gea will start in goal as per usual, despite the temptation to give one of the backup shot-stoppers some minutes.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka wasn’t great against Arsenal, though he remains the only real option at right-back. He will start. Tyrell Malacia has never let us down so he’ll come into the line-up here, giving Luke Shaw some well-deserved rest. Lisandro Martinez continues to start, with Harry Maguire coming into the XI.
Casemiro will be feeling fresh after his weekend off so he will start, alongside his Brazil compatriot Fred. Bruno Fernandes is always one of the first names on the team sheet. Play him here.
Wout Weghorst has been excellent in his opening two matches. All that’s missing is a first goal. This feels like a decent opportunity to try and make that happen. To his right and left respectively is Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford – a combination filled with quality and skill.
