Manchester United take on Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Wednesday, with an injury-hit squad looking to progress into the last eight.
Manchester United Football Club lost at the weekend, leaving themselves eight points adrift in the race for a spot in the Premier League’s top four. This midweek, attention turns to the FA Cup.
We’re suddenly at the last sixteen stage, with a place in the quarter-final at stake here. A trip to Nottingham Forest is never going to be easy, though it’s a reasonable draw all things considered.
With a full squad, I don’t doubt that Erik ten Hag would feel 100% confident going into this game. However, the club are missing a core group of players – that could even include Casemiro, after he had to be subbed off over the weekend.
Anyway, without further ado, let’s give you the full run-down of our line-up for this game…
Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Nottingham Forest in full here:
Andre Onana has made that number one jersey his own. I understand he is not everyone’s cup of tea, though he’s the best goalkeeper at the club. Comfortably. He will start here.
Diogo Dalot starts at right-back which is no surprise, given he’s the only fit player in that area of the field. It’s not ideal, but Victor Lindelof will start at left-back. Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire is the now customary central defensive pairing. It’s working decently enough.
Kobbie Mainoo has been the man of the moment over the last couple of months and he simply has to start here to bring some quality into a struggling midfield. Scott McTominay will come in for the likely-concussed Casemiro, with Bruno Fernandes completing the midfield trio.
Marcus Rashford will start as the striker. Again, it’s far from the perfect situation but it’s the hand we’ve been dealt. Alejandro Garnacho starts on the left-hand side of attack, with Amad completing the attacking trio off the right-wing.
