Our predicted MUFC XI for our 2024/25 Europa League opener vs Twente is now in…
Manchester United kick off their Europa League campaign under the Old Trafford floodlights tomorrow, hosting Twente in their first match of eight.
This new-look Europa League tournament leaves us all with plenty of intrigue, while a finish inside the top eight could be huge from a rest perspective as we approach the knockout stages in February.
However, it’s up to Erik ten Hag to use these games to manage the squad perfectly. It’s tough to strike that balance between adequate quality and keeping his players fresh. Though you’d like to think that United should win this game comfortably, regardless of whatever team the gaffer puts out.
Anyway, without further ado, let’s give you the full rundown of the line-up we think Ten Hag will opt for.
Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Twente in full here:
Andre Onana does start in between the sticks, though the temptation to rotate and give Altay Bayindir some more minutes is real.
Noussair Mazraoui has arguably been our best performer to start this campaign and he will continue in the right-back slot here, with Diogo Dalot starting over on the left-hand side of defence. Harry Maguire comes into the side for some well-deserved minutes, with Lisandro Martinez partnering the Englishman.
Casemiro starts at the heart of midfield, alongside his fellow South American, Manuel Ugarte. This combination should have more than enough quality to control that battle, with Bruno Fernandes then freed up to do what he does best higher up the field.
Joshua Zirkzee continues to lead the line as Rasmus Hojlund builds his way back up to full fitness. He’ll have Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford on his right and left respectively. Both will be looking to continue their great form at the moment.
