Predicted Starting XI: Manchester City vs Manchester United

Manchester United haven’t won a Manchester derby in exactly 100 weeks, and Louis van Gaal will certainly be looking to put that record straight at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow. After an excellent point at home to Chelsea last time out, United will have their tails up, whereas City have been struggling for form of late.

For me, Van Gaal has to stick with the 4-3-3 formation once again. The back five did an excellent job last weekend, so you simply cannot tinker with what works. Daley Blind and Marouane Fellaini both have to play, whereas Angel Di Maria and Robin van Persie are certainties.

Wayne Rooney will return, hopefully as a wide player in the front three, and Ander Herrera’s energy in the middle of the park will be essential if he proves his fitness.

Predicted XI

De Gea; Rafael, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw; Blind, Fellaini, Herrera; Rooney, Di Maria, Van Persie
