Manchester United kick-off their Champions League game in what is the hardest fixture on paper; Away at PSV Eindhoven. Louis van Gaal and Daley Blind will be returning to their homeland, whereas Memphis Depay will visit his former teammates after his summer move to Old Trafford.
Louis van Gaal is a big believer in playing his strongest XI for every match and keeping that consistency going, so I don’t expect to see many changes here.
The back five should be exactly the same as the one that beat Liverpool this weekend, with Morgan Schneiderlin coming in for Bastian Schweinsteiger – who has completed three full 90 minute matches over the last week or so.
Memphis Depay will start against his old club, with the Spanish duo of Juan Mata and Ander Herrera tucked in behind the Manchester United man of the moment Anthony Martial.
Starting XI
De Gea; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw; Carrick, Schneiderlin; Depay, Herrera, Mata; Martial.
