Manchester United take on an in-form Stoke City side on New Years Day, and the lads will be hoping to start off 2015 with a bang. Louis van Gaal’s side currently sit in third place, but three points here would certainly help in the battle for a place in the Champions League for next season.
Rafael could return to the starting line-up after a couple of substitute appearances in recent weeks, whereas the game probably comes too soon for a Luke Shaw start.
Wayne Rooney will continue in midfield with Juan Mata in the #10 spot, with Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie starting as the two strikers – both of whom will probably be rested on Sunday for the FA Cup tie away at Yeovil.
Starting XI
