Predicted Starting XI: Sunderland vs United

Motivation certainly won’t be a factor in this one, the lads will remember the final day of last season when rather bizarrely, Sunderland fans started doing the ‘Poznan’ dance when City scored a last minute winner to win the title. How small time is that? Fergie will also have one eye on the Chelsea game when picking his team.

I’d imagine after the international break Sir Alex will ring the changes, our second string will should be more than enough to beat a Sunderland side who find themselves rapidly falling down the table.

I’ve gone for a completely different outfield for this one, with Powell getting a rare start in the midfield alongside Anderson, and Danny Welbeck partnering Javier Hernandez up front.

I reckon Evans and Jones will get the nod at the heart of the defence, especially after Sir Alex confirmed the latter has been training and will probably feature in the international break at some point.

The more important game over the Easter weekend has to be Chelsea in the cup, its rather frustrating that we threw a two goal lead away in the manner we did as it means we now have to play two potentially tricky games in the space of 48 hours.

Although we want to wrap up the league as quickly as we can, dropping points here and giving ourselves the best possible chance of making the FA Cup semi-final has to be the way to do it.
