It has been confirmed that Sir Alex Ferguson will get one last Guard of Honour to end his reign as United boss, and the end of a hectic 12 days for United fans all over the world. Before that though, WBA will reportedly give United a Guard of Honour for being crowned league champions which is a nice touch.
This game will not be easy. The boss has already stated his desire to win this one, and he sees it as a more important game to win than last week so no doubt we’ll see a strong line-up.
Sir Alex has already confirmed that Anders Lindegaard will play in goal and Jonny Evans as well as Phil Jones will play at centre-back. His reasoning for this was he sees them as the future of United and they need all the game-time they can get.
The right-back area is a bit of a problem; Rafael is out due to suspension and Chris Smalling is injured so the only other senior option in that position is Antonio Valencia. The winger has played there a few times this season and on the whole has done a decent job.
We haven’t seen Cleverley start for some time and I’d like to. I get the feeling he’ll be playing for his United future next season, he’s shown glimpses of class this season but not consistently enough for United.
In the wide berths i’ve gone for Kagawa and Welbeck, the latter limped off last week so he’ll be facing a late struggle to get fit for this one.
Finally i’ve gone for Van Persie just in behind Hernandez similar to how they played against Swansea. It worked well and Van Persie found the gaps just in behind and did a good job supporting Chicha.
Score prediction: WBA 1-2 United
