Well, we’re now getting ever-closer to the start of the serious stuff, with just over a week to go until the Premier League campaign kicks off.
This game against AC Milan is probably the best look at what starting line-up we may well see against Chelsea next weekend, so no doubt like many others, I’ll be watching on with intrigue. It’s also a chance to win a bit of pre-season silverware. With a victory, Manchester United will be named International Champions Cup winners.
At first glance, this team does look weak in some areas which does highlight the need for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to push through another signing or two before the start of play, but let’s delve right into the starting XI.
Check out the predicted Man United starting XI vs AC Milan here:
David de Gea will start in between the sticks as there’s still no news on a new contract for the superstar Spaniard.
New signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka will play on the right, with Luke Shaw getting the nod opposite him over on the left-hand side of defence. Victor Lindelof is now United’s best centre-half. He’ll start alongside Chris Smalling.
Scott McTominay has enjoyed a fine tour. His willingness to contribute on both sides of the ball has been a joy to watch and long may that continue. Paul Pogba will start just to his left.
Jesse Lingard’s movement is exceptional. He will play in the #10 role, although all of this front four can interlink and change their positions whenever they see fit. Marcus Rashford will lead the line, Anthony Martial will start over on the left-wing while Daniel James will continue on the right-hand side.
