Predicted XI: Man United vs Perth Glory (tour 2019)

Well, after a couple of months without Manchester United action, the Red Devils will take to the field once again in a couple of days time.

After almost week of training out in Australia, the proper stuff gets underway with a game against A-League high-flyers, Perth Glory.

This fixture is the first of five tour matches, so it’s hard to predict Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s thinking, but we’ve gone with this exciting (and extremely young) United XI for this one…

We’ve opted for this purely because the Baby Faced Assassin stated that the Red Devils’ second game against Leeds will give an indication as to how our team may look on the opening day against Chelsea, so I’m expecting to see several youngsters get their chance here.

Remember, this is just a prediction so don’t take it too serious…

In goal, Joel Pereira will get his chance to show Solskjaer what he can do. It’s easy to forget about the young Portuguese shot-stopper in amongst all the Dean Henderson hype…

Diogo Dalot was often deployed further up the field during his debut campaign, but this match, he’ll start as the right-back with Luke Shaw playing on the opposite flank. There has been much talk about Axel Tuanzebe this summer, it’s only right that the United academy graduate gets his opportunity. Phil Jones makes up the back four.

The midfield is jam-packed with mega-talented academy products. Scot McTominay sits at the base, while James Garner will finally make a United appearance. Angel Gomes will start in the #10 role just in-behind the strikers.

Mason Greenwood was United’s best player on the final day of the season. He’ll play as the main striker in this one, while Tahith Chong will start on the right-hand side. Daniel James makes his Reds debut in his preferred left-wing slot. I, for one, am extremely excited to see what he can do…
