Premier League 2025/26: Manchester United bid to bounce back at Fulham

Manchester United visit Fulham on Sunday aiming to build on the promise they showed in their Premier League season opener against Arsenal.

With the Red Devils slipped to a 1-0 defeat on that occasion, most neutral observers claimed they deserved to take something from the game at Old Trafford.

The bookmakers were impressed with their performance, and have installed them as the favourites to bounce back to winning ways at Craven Cottage this weekend.

Punters browsing options like bet365 promo may use the offer to back United at odds of 6/5 to collect three points in the capital city.

Ruben Amorim’s new-look team put plenty of pressure on the Gunners last weekend, but were ultimately undone by Riccardo Califiori’s early goal.

New forwards Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo looked dangerous against Arsenal and will fancy their chances of causing Fulham problems on Sunday.

Cunha ran riot on his last visit to Craven Cottage, bagging two goals and an assist as Wolverhampton Wanderers recorded an impressive 4-1 victory.

The 26-year-old is desperate to make his mark with United and could be a good bet at odds of 11/5 to get on the scoresheet at Fulham.

His cause would be helped if Amorim unleashes striker Benjamin Sesko this weekend. He came on as a substitute against Arsenal and showed glimpses of his potential.

Man United have not signed the Slovenian to sit on the bench and it would be a major surprise if he does not lead the line from the start this weekend.

The Red Devils scored just 44 goals in the Premier League last season and desperately need all of their new forwards to sparkle this term.

Amorim will also want more from captain Bruno Fernandes, who failed to make much impact in a deeper-lying midfield role against Arsenal.

Fernandes and Casemiro are expected to be the first-choice midfield pairing this season and the trip to Fulham offers them the chance to demonstrate they can work together.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana will likely return in goal after being left out of the squad last weekend, while Noussair Mazraoui and Joshua Zirkzee could also be in contention.

Fulham made a steady start to the new campaign last weekend, with Rodrigo Muniz’s late goal securing a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion.

They will likely concede possession to United with a view to hitting them on the counter-attack, and it will be intriguing to see how those tactics pan out.

The Red Devils did the double over Fulham in the league last season, but the London side gained their revenge by knocking them out of the FA Cup following a penalty shoot-out.

  1. Some teams score in the first half itself. Even with the new players, there is no hope of Man.Utd scoring. We thought and looked forward to a more interesting and exciting game. Some of them are looking not fit enough to run forward they keep slowing down the game by standing and passing. Sometimes, they are displaying their old mistakes and that remains scary. This is how they lose their games.

  2. I cannot understand how good players start getting frustrated after they make mistakes and then they blame it on this and that and immediately we hear that they want a transfer. Where is all that loyality and passion gone? Again, one person can only have that fine qualities and it is the excellent Harry Maguire. It took him that guts and strength to hold on during that difficult period with such determination not to let all that disturb or mess with his mind but that true belief that he had and that was that he is going to strongly bounce back. That is exactly what he did and here he is still standing and that is what good players should have or follow him as their idol.
