Whoever the next permanent manager may be, this summer’s transfer window is huge for Manchester United.
After the debacle that took place almost twelve months ago, Edward Woodward and the powers that be need a strong bounce-back.
With that in mind, transfer targets are being identified, and according to talkSPORT in an exclusive, three main players have been targeted by United.
Amongst those is Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The English right-back is enjoying a stellar season in London, looking better with each passing week as his transfer value is no doubt increasing. The report adds that The Eagles would demand £40million to let him leave.
With Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young ageing, this move makes some sense; although I do wonder what that means for young Diogo Dalot.
The other two players named in the report are Kalidou Koulibaly and Ivan Rakitic. The former is amongst the best centre-halves in the world, and if we could acquire him and sit him in there alongside Victor Lindelof, that would be pretty special.
As for Rakitic, I like him but I’m not sure he’s an upgrade on what we already have. I guess it makes sense in terms of strength-in-depth, but would he beat out Ander Herrera? Probably not…
