PSG interested in Diogo Dalot, Man United want at least £30m: report

Last summer, Manchester United spent big on the defence. Harry Maguire was the major acquisition in a £80million move, though a £50million deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka cannot be understated.

The Spider has been sublime all season long, taking to life at Old Trafford like a duck to water. However, that spells bad news for other right-backs who are trying to force their way into the team…

Amongst the players who would’ve been expecting more minutes going into this campaign was Diogo Dalot. Sure, injuries have played their part, but earning minutes as a right-back is proving a nigh-on impossible task for the Portuguese, hence why he’s had to settle for minutes further up the field.

Well, today’s somewhat inevitable transfer rumour comes from O Jogo‘s Thursday print edition, translated by Sport Witness. Apparently, European giant Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the talented 21-year-old United man…

The story claims that Dalot could’ve left Old Trafford on a loan deal in January but now a permanent switch away looks more likely. In terms of a fee, the Reds want at least £30m, possibly approaching £35m.

For a player who arrived less than two years ago for £18million, almost doubling your money for a player who has been plagued by injuries and barely seen minutes would be a good deal.

Sure, Dalot is obviously an immensely talented player, sometimes, though, there’s just not enough minutes to go around. Perhaps it’s better that the Portuguese is allowed to move on, though I hope it doesn’t affect his countryman Bruno Fernandes!
