Pundit explains how Marcus Rashford is being ‘wasted’ by Manchester United recently

Manchester United are having a tough time of things at the moment, with Jose Mourinho’s men struggling to string any real run of wins together. Next up, Arsenal, in a game that also won’t be an easy three points by any stretch of the imagination.

One of their former players-turned-pundit Ian Wright has made a bold statement ahead of that match, and I don’t normally agree with him but the former striker is spot on regarding the situation of Marcus Rashford.

He claims that the young striker is being wasted out wide at the moment, which isn’t helping him at all.

“Why is Marcus Rashford playing on the wing? He is a goal-scorer,” Ian Wright is quoted as saying.

“He has good movement and he can finish. They’ve left him on the wing and he’s rotting out there.”

It was always going to be tough for Rashford to get games as a striker with Zlatan Ibrahimovic brought in, and although we’ve seen glimpses of his magic with him cutting in from the left, it’s just not offering us as much production as we’d like on a regular basis – whereas when he was playing as a forward he was finding the back of the net pretty much every game.
