Manchester United secured another important victory yesterday afternoon, as Louis van Gaal once again goes some way to restoring the faith from the fans. However one Sky Sports pundit in Graeme Souness has said that United are relying way too heavily on youth.
“Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the youngsters are being asked to get them out of a hole.” Souness said. “Manchester United are relying on a 23-year-old Lingard, a 20-year-old Martial and an 18-year-old Rashford.”
You find it hard to disagree with the Scot too. Manchester United’s star men in an attacking sense this season have been Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
Manchester United are a club who aren’t afraid to promote youth, and its great to see them doing so again here, but you do feel the club needs a few senior figures who can help guide these starlets along.
