Rafael and Fabio da Silva could BOTH leave Manchester United in the summer

Fabio da Silva was expected to leave Manchester United on loan during the January transfer window, however his agent Cassiano Pereira has admitted that he’ll be staying at Manchester United until the summer at least. He also added the point that United’s first choice right-back, and Fabio’s twin brother Rafael, could also leave.

Perhaps its not too much of a surprise that Fabio could be gone in the summer, but Rafael going would be a major blow. He’s our first choice right-back, and our only natural right-sided defender.

Cassiano Pereira said:

“I don’t know anything about these stories [about Fabio leaving].”

“I think they are just journalistic speculation.”

“Today, I say that will remain in Manchester until the end of the season, but in summer it is very likely that they can leave.”

Rafael has been a mainstay in the Manchester United line-up when fit, and he’s definitely up there with Pablo Zabaleta as one of the best two right-backs in the league. Unless David moyes has plans to replace him with a world-class right-back, then it makes no sense whatsoever to let Rafael go.
