Manchester United look set to sell Rafael da Silva to Lyon this summer, and the Brazilian himself has all-but confirmed he is about to exit Old Trafford after a seven year stay at the club that bought him and his twin brother from Brazilian side Fluminense back in 2008.
As you can see from the image below, Rafael was responding to a fan who wishes him well as he prepares to leave the club, and the Brazilian responded with a simple ‘thanks mate’. The 25-year old has also favourited plenty of tweets suggesting a move to Lyon could be close.
Whilst it would be a shame to see a fan favourite go, its probably the best move for all involved. Rafael needs regular playing time which he isn’t going to get here, whereas United need to get him off their books, despite a relatively low €3million fee being mentioned in the media.
