Luke Shaw better watch out, with Ralf Rangnick obviously unimpressed with the Englishman in a video from last year that has emerged…
Manchester United Football Club have seemingly found their man in Ralf Rangnick.
For what it’s worth, out of all the possible interim options, it always felt like the German was the standout candidate.
Rangnick’s work in the Bundesliga hasn’t gone unnoticed. He’s referred to as the father figure to the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel. It’ll be interesting to see whether he can make that sort of impact here at Old Trafford.
With a new manager comes fresh ideas and ideologies. For that, some players will improve while others will struggle. Well, a video has emerged online of Rangnick giving a damning assessment of Luke Shaw last year, who has been a key star for the Reds during the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era.
Check out the video here:
Rangnick said: “They (MUFC) could do with a left-back. I know they have Luke Shaw but I’m not so sure if he’s still on the same kind of level you need to be for a club like Manchester United.”
Well, if the 63-year-old has been watching United this season, then I fear the worst for the English left-back as he has been struggling massively.
The good news for Shaw is that he strikes me as someone who always kicks it up a notch when question marks are raised about him. Rangnick may come in, Shaw may react positively and fit the new system like a glove.
If that doesn’t happen, United have Alex Telles waiting in the wings. The Brazilian has looked decent on his limited appearances thus far and perhaps he deserves a real run in the side to prove his worth.
I just can’t wait to see how Rangnick shakes it up. I genuinely do think that some United players are in for a real shock with this new man in charge. The German will say it how it is and he won’t take any rubbish or backlash from his players. You either adapt to his system or leave. It really is that simple.
