Ralf Rangnick says trio back and fit to play against Arsenal

Scott McTominay is available for selection again.

Manchester United are approaching their last chance saloon. Lose against Arsenal this weekend and the top four dream is completely dead. Win and somehow, we’re still alive with a super slim chance.

The way we’re playing at the moment doesn’t leave us here at Old Trafford Faithful with much hope, mind.

It feels like the lads have given up. No doubt the thumping they received on Tuesday only reinforces that belief. However, any professional player with any sort of pride will pick themselves up and continue fighting until the bitter end.

Ahead of our game against Arsenal tomorrow, United have been given a boost. During his pre-match presser, Ralf Rangnick offered a positive injury update, admitting that a key trio are now back available for the crunch match.

Check out what Ralf Rangnick had to say on United’s injury situation here:

“Scott McTominay will be back and fit to play,” Rangnick told club media.

“He has been training with us and will train today, so he will be available for the game tomorrow. The same is true with Rapha Varane and, obviously, Cristiano is available again.”

All three of the lads were spotted back out on the training field yesterday, which definitely left us feeling hopeful that at least one or two of these guys would be ready to play.

The fantastic news is that all three of them should be good to go – assuming Rangnick believes they’re the right men for the job in this crucial game.

It goes without saying, Cristiano Ronaldo will start when fit. I just hope he’s feeling okay mentally after what he’s been through.

Both Raphael Varane and Scott McTominay haven’t been out injured for too long. Usually, that means they’re still feeling pretty sharp in terms of match fitness so again, if our German manager deems them ready to go, I have a strong feeling both will start here.

United lacked that midfield intensity from McTominay against Liverpool, while without Varane, the defence shipped four goals. It goes without saying, we’re a better team with both of them in it.

Hopefully, these lads returning offers a lift to the whole squad and we see a much-improved performance away at the Emirates tomorrow.
