Ralf Rangnick still interested in becoming Man United manager: report

Ralf Rangnick is seemingly still keen on becoming Man United’s new manager.

Manchester United Football Club lost again yesterday, with the Red Devils’ form now the worst in the Premier League.

Suddenly, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job is far from safe. The Baby Faced Assassin has offered up a real mixed bag of results, though this term, the football has always been pretty diabolical.

We’re now entering into the international break, with United now having a fortnight to make a big decision on the long-term future of their manager.

To us here at Old Trafford Faithful, it feels pretty clear that Solskjaer has taken us as far as he can. But who is available to replace the Norwegian…?

Well, one man who could potentially take over is Ralf Rangnick, who is currently working at Lokomotiv Moscow as their Head of Sports Development.

According to Christian Falk, the 63-year-old is ‘still interested’ in taking over as Manchester United boss.

United had eyes on Rangnick two years ago after his time at RB Leipzig came to an end, with the German’s CV over in the Bundesliga pretty impressive. The highlight of his career came at Schalke 04, as he guided the German side to a cup victory, while also making a great Champions League semi-final run.

The 63-year-old has an attractive style of play, while he also constantly speaks his mind. Whether that will sit well with the United board is another matter entirely…

Even if it’s just a contract until the end of the season, I’d imagine Rangnick would jump at the chance to manage the biggest club in England. Personally, I reckon this would be an astute hire if the board could somehow pull it off.

Would Ralf Rangnick be a good hire? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
