Manchester United had themselves a pretty huge summer, welcoming Cristiano Ronaldo home while also adding Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho.
Suddenly, you get the feeling this squad is just one or two pieces way from being genuine contenders – with the right man at the helm, of course.
Ralf Rangnick has been identified as the guy to lead this club back to its former glories, albeit in the short term.
Well, not only is the German a master tactician, but he’s also already thinking about potential signings his new club could make. Including Erling Haaland.
We all know how talented the Borussia Dortmund striker is, with the Norwegian possibly out-growing the German outfit in the not too distant future.
Well, Rangnick is set to ‘try to convince’ the prolific 21-year-old to join him at Old Trafford. The Reds boss is set to use his close relationship with Haaland’s father to try and push the forward in our direction.

United links to the young striker have been consistent. I guess there’s only a handful of clubs in world football who can afford such player.
At first, I assumed the fact that we’d re-signed Ronaldo would probably rule out a move for Haaland. However, Ronnie isn’t going to be around forever, so why not try and add arguably the best young player in world football?
I believe Haaland is someone who’d thrive in the Premier League and with the help of a manager who loves developing youth like Rangnick, Haaland would only become even better.
I guess it depends on whether the Haaland family can get over their hatred of United and recognise that this would be a great career move for the young man.
