Ralf Rangnick doesn’t believe he’ll have Paul Pogba available for Man United’s next couple of fixtures.
Manchester United have been in a gradual decline all season. The players checked out weeks ago, already on their summer holidays after another season of disappointment.
Perhaps the one player who epitomises the situation more than most is Paul Pogba. Bags of talent and potential. Very little production despite a marquee price-tag.
It looks for all the world like he’ll be leaving the Old Trafford club this summer. Honestly, at this point, I think it’s best for all involved.
Yesterday, Pogba would pick up an injury early on in the game vs Liverpool. Rangnick provided a little update at the time.
Now, though, while speaking to the in-house channel, we’ve learnt more in regards to the severity. United have been dealt a blow, with the key star set to miss the next couple with the problem…
Check out what the gaffer had to say in full here:
‘He pulled his calf muscle. As it seems right now this will be an injury not quite like the one Fred has that will be gone in one week.’ Rangnick has told MUTV, per The Metro.
‘I feel that he will not be available either for Arsenal or Chelsea.’
Fixture-wise, it couldn’t really get any worse. Arsenal and Chelsea are always two massive games. Given the situation, the former has even more at stake as we’re vying for a place inside the Champions League places.
I get that Pogba isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, mine included. However, Fred and Scott McTominay are both absent through injury. Our midfield area is already looking super thin. Being down another body is less than ideal.
All it does is heightens our problems going into two huge fixtures. I get it, our chances at finishing inside the top four are super slim, but I’d like to see us fight until it’s mathematically over.
On the flip side, this could give us another chance to see Hannibal Mejbri in action. I was pleased with his fight and desire against Liverpool on Tuesday.
