Raphael Varane is pushing hard to make his Man United debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.
Manchester United’s second big-money signing of the summer was none other than Raphael Varane.
Our Frenchman would’ve been delighted with what he saw upon his unveiling at Old Trafford, as the Reds stuck five past Leeds United. However, United were far less convincing last time out against Southampton…
Next up is a trip to Wolverhampton, to take on the Wanderers in their own backyard. Trips to Wolves have never been easy. This time around we should expect no different.
Our new defensive hero is yet to play for United, though that could all change this weekend, per the Manchester Evening News.
Apparently, United’s star defender is ‘in contention’ to make his Man United debut this weekend, with Varane ‘pushing’ for a place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s XI.
Varane is said to be enjoying a ‘week of impressive’ training at the AON Training Complex, giving the Baby Faced Assassin a tough decision to make.
For what it’s worth, both Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire have been pretty good recently, though you don’t sign a player like Varane in order for him to sit on the bench.
It always felt like a matter of time before United’s new number four would be thrown into the starting line-up, though it has to be said, there are easier tasks than Wolves away to make your full debut.
Varane is no doubt someone who is totally up to the task, though. This guy is a winner. He doesn’t back down from any challenges. It’ll be a difficult game for him if the Frenchman does start, but I’m sure excited to see how he gets on.
