Raphael Varane was amongst the keen onlookers as Man United took on Everton yesterday.
Manchester United’s season starts in less than a week. Pre-season hasn’t gone as smoothly as Ole Gunnar Solskajer would’ve hoped for a number of reasons.
First, the cancellation of one fixture due to a few COVID-19 cases. Factor in the point that new signings Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane haven’t featured yet and the alarm bells start ringing.
Well, the show must go on. The boys that did take on Everton last night were absolutely brilliant. It was the usual suspects like Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire who were putting on a show.
I was loving it. A packed Old Trafford, goals galore and some brilliant footballer. Another keen on-looker was none other than Raphael Varane, who was watching his new United teammates in action – no doubt he would’ve been impressed, too. He uploaded this photo to his Instagram stories.

A 4-0 win against a decent Everton side will no doubt have been a great first impression for Varane, with the Frenchman probably watching on and trying to work out what he could add to this side.
He’ll have been pleased to see his new defensive partner Maguire score a fantastic goal, while also looking solid at the back, too.
Sadly, there’s little-to-no chance Varane starts, or even features against Leeds United this weekend as he’s still self-isolating. Perhaps we’ll see him amongst the substitutes bench, with a view to him getting himself in the side at some point in the not too distant future.
This picture is class, though!
