Man United may have been given the edge in pursuit of Leeds United’s Raphinha, due to Bruno Fernandes…
Erik ten Hag is already working hard at Manchester United. The Dutchman started early after recognising what a sad state of affairs the Red Devils are in right now.
Players are needed in pretty much every position, particularly with loads of first-teamers out of contract. Big money will have to be spent all over the field.
One man who has been linked with a possible United switch is Leeds United’s Raphinha. When the Yorkshire club survived relegation, I just assumed that move would be dead in the water.
Well, the Express on Sunday seem to believe otherwise… Interest in Raphinha is still believed to be relatively high, with FC Barcelona also interested.
According to the report, the 25-year-old star ‘may favour’ a move to United. That’s due to a potential reunion with his ‘older brother’, Bruno Fernandes.
Both Raphinha and Bruno played together briefly at Sporting Lisbon, developing an excellent relationship on and off the field. No doubt our attacking midfielder is already working hard on the Leeds man behind the scenes!
The Brazilian has been in spectacular form for Leeds United since making the move to Elland Road, while the fact he already has Premier League experience definitely plays into United’s hands if they’re intent on bringing him in.
Obviously, Leeds United would prefer to sell to anyone other than Manchester United, so that could prove to be some sort of stumbling block.
It’s probably an unpopular opinion but I believe we need a fiery character like Raphinha. His desire to win sometimes means he steps over the line, picking up daft cards and making silly tackles, but more often than not, the Brazilian channels that energy into positivity. He’s also a highly entertaining player to watch from a general standpoint.
