Manchester United Football Club spent a rather large sum of money over the summer, as Jose Mourinho looks to fill the holes within the current team. It certainly looks as though the self-proclaimed Special One is building something pretty special at the Theatre of Dreams and I hope that continues.
One of the hit buys so far has to be Romelu Lukaku. The big Belgian has scored three goals in three Premier League games so far and has proved to be a real hit amongst the fans.
On top of that, it seems like his teammates are enjoying the on-field partnership that seems to be growing, too. Marcus Rashford has been speaking to the media, and the young man from Wythenshawe has admitted that it’s just clicked on the field, and the pair seems to know where each other are going to be.
“It’s just clicked, we’ve got that understanding,” Rashford told reporters, including United’s official website. “We’d never met before his arrival, and we didn’t know what each other were like, but when we got on the pitch together we just knew where each other was.
“Hopefully we can keep growing the relationship more and more. Obviously it’s only in the early stages, and the better we get at playing together, the better the results will be for the team.”
Like Rashford says, it’s still early days for them both and if they continue to develop as a duo, then this is a partnership that both will benefit greatly from. Individually, different attributes are brought to the table and it looks like they compliment one another wonderfully so far.
Then, the duo were compared to the famous partnership of Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, Rashford had this response:
“It would be great if we could be like them, but the most important thing is for us to work for the team together.”
To be likened to such an iconic duo is a tad premature for me. They’ve only played three games together, but the best thing is that time is definitely on their side and if they can continue to grow, Manchester United could be onto a winner.
