Man United have been given a pre-derby boost, with both Marcus Rsahford and Anthony Martial returning to training.
Manchester United Football Club take on Manchester City tomorrow, in the first Manchester derby of the campaign.
The game itself is obviously going to be a tough one for Erik ten Hag’s boys, though no doubt the lads will fight for every inch when they step out across those white lines.
Ahead of the game, United have been given a double injury boost, as a key pair have returned to training ahead of the derby. Both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were out on the pitches today, Ten Hag told the media.
Martial has been out on the field all week according to the gaffer, whereas we don’t know exactly when Rashford returned. This feels like some early mind games from the Red Devils boss.
There was worse news on Harry Maguire, who’ll miss this match with injury.
Check out David McDonnell’s tweet here:
Rashford’s problem meant he missed the international break. Though at the time, the club were hopeful the Englishman would be fit for this one. If I had to guess, a spot on the bench feels like the most likely option for both players.
Martial has missed far too much time to be thrown straight back into the starting line-up. If United can somehow get half an hour out of him here, that’d have to be viewed as a big success.
Either way, United are up against it, going into Manchester City’s building and trying to overcome the best side in the league. They absolutely can be beaten, though, so let’s see how we get on…
