Rasmus Hojlund is desperate to secure a transfer to Man United this summer.

A new striker has to be atop Manchester United’s list of needs this summer. The Red Devils are crying out for that elite level striker who can guarantee goals.

Harry Kane has always been the dream signing, though Tottenham Hotspur could dig their heels in and refuse to sell – particularly to a Premier League rival.

That could lead to Erik ten Hag being forced to look elsewhere. The Dutch manager has to sign someone, be it a younger player, an experienced stop-gap or someone right in their prime.

One name that has been linked with an Old Trafford switch is Rasmus Hojlund. The Atalanta forward enjoyed an excellent 2022/23 season, which was viewed as his breakout year.

It’s Fabrizio Romano with the latest information on that front. He released a YouTube video on United’s transfer targets, including some information on Hojlund.

It’s stated by Romano that the 20-year-old starlet ‘really wants’ a United move this summer – and it could come down to the young man pushing from his side.

However, United will not overpay for the signing. Initially, Atalanta wanted around €60m to let Hojlund leave. That figure has now risen to €70m.

It goes without saying, for a young footballer, this is an awful lot of money. There’s no such thing as a sure-fire thing at this age, with United conscious of overpaying for a player who has to be considered a gamble.

In terms of the options, Hojlund is a decent one. His biggest selling point is the longevity that he’d bring, though I’d imagine that many supporters would still prefer a Kane, or possibly even a Victor Osimhen.
