Real Madrid could look to re-sign Raphael Varane from Man United, after Los Blancos have suffered a major defensive injury.
The Manchester United transfer rumours are now starting to ramp up. It’s to be expected given we’re rapidly approaching the January transfer window and the squad is performing inconsistently at this moment in time.
Erik ten Hag does have some key decisions to make. He has several high earners on the books who aren’t specifically pulling their weight right now. That said, we covered a claim yesterday which stated that the Dutch gaffer does want to keep ahold of both Casemiro and Raphael Varane until at least the end of the season.
Well, United’s resolve could about to be tested by Real Madrid. Christian Falk provides the latest information on that front, as Los Blancos are eyeing Varane.
According to the report, the United defender is being targeted for transfer by the European giant, who are ‘interested’ in the Frenchman after suffering a major injury to David Alaba. His season is now over.
Real Madrid could look to bring back Varane who, until last weekend, has been wasting away on the bench of late. To his credit, Varane was outstanding against Liverpool.

The aforementioned article also claimed that United could reconsider their stance on selling both Casemiro and Varane if the right offer comes in. Perhaps Real Madrid may do just that, putting the Reds in a really difficult position if a decently-sized bid arrives.
Honestly, I’d keep Rapha. I still think he forms half of our best defensive partnership alongside a fully fit Lisandro Martinez.
Granted, the Frenchman has his own injury issues to contend with, but when he’s fit, there aren’t many better within the sport. United could also do with his experience and winning mentality within a dressing room that is pretty young in several areas of the field.
